LG ENV 2 for Verizon Review

The LG enV2 is an attractive phone for the young text messaging set.  From a full QWERTY keyboard to a number of multimedia features and even 3G support, the LG enV2 is a great choice for anyone who likes to send text messages.  While that phone felt clunky, like a big toy, phone is elegant and compact.  That said this phone is a better all around device, with better image and video capture, better messaging capabilities with the full QWERTY keyboard and better multimedia capabilities.

Like its predecessor, the enV2 doesn’t look like much when you initially glance at it.  The enV2’s GPS functionality is an extra luxury, however you will have to utilize Verizon’s Navigator software, which costs $9.  The enV2 still has a enormous Internal display, but the external display is shrunk down and the full QWERTY keyboard is squeezed smaller.  Like most V CAST phones, the phone comes with an MP3 player that supports MP3, WMA, AAC and AAC+ formats.  But beyond being a phone, this cell phone is like carrying around a miniature laptop.

The LG enV2, sans the big camera lens and the autofocus, takes good photos that are competitive with other 2 megapixel camera phones currently on the market but aren’t as good as the enV’s.  Like other high end LG phones on Verizon including the the LG VX9800 and LG VX8300, the VX9900 has voice command software and text to speech.  The speakers on this thing are amazing for such a tiny device, they are very loud, only downside is that when you plug headphones(2.

Aside from the new look, the LG NV2 is loaded with a number of features that Verizon Wireless customers and LG phone users, have grown to love and like.  Sadly, you may have a hard time loading up websites other than Verizon’s affiliated web partners.

Don’t expect the Env2 cell phone to compete with the LG Voyager, but if you want a lower-end, smaller, and sleeker alternative to the Voyager touchscreen-monster, the LG enV 2 should do you just fine.

This cell phone supports SMS, MMS for picture and video messaging, mobile email and web-based email as well as mobile IM.  The enV2’s camera can also take video with audio at 320 x 240, 176 x 144 (default) resolutions in either MMS length or max length limited by available storage.
